Kenneth Mockford sat in his Lynx flight simulator. He has spent more than £100,000 building three aircraft simulators in his back garden shed in honour of late RAF father.

The animated view from the cockpit provided by the flight simulator looks convincingly close to the real thing for those who take the controls

Mr Mockord has even gone to the trouble of installing airline seats into the simulator to add to the reality of the simulations

The simulator creator stands proudly at the cocking of his Boeing 737-800 that he built in his garden shed after quitting his job

He left his high-paying job as Head of Engineering at Baxter Healthcare UK after they decided to turn their shed hobby into a flight simulator business in 2014

To get into the simulator, people must even pass through a fake customs passport control, which comes complete with posters of planes and RAF bunting

Mr Mockford is the latest in a line of airmen as he trained as an electrical mechanical engineer before joining the South African airforce and moving back to the UK in 1995
